What is the recommended way to secure a Zoom meeting?

First, use a passcode even for meetings restricted to U of T attendees. Enabling “require authenticated connections” can lead to issues for attendees. A simple, all-lowercase word for the passcode is sufficient.

Second, turn off unnecessary features such as participant video and joining before host. You can also assign a co-host with a UTORid.

Once the meeting is underway, enable the waiting room using Zoom’s in-meeting security toolbox and lock down options like screen sharing or renaming if needed.

Install Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client must be installed on devices using UTORvpn. Follow the Step-by-Step Installation Guide.
